Friday, January 22, 2010 NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Kate Cloxton scored 20 of her career-high 22 points in the second half to pace Campbell in a 74-67 Atlantic Sun win at Belmont inside the Curb Event Center. Campbell moves to 10-7 overall and 5-3 in A-Sun play this season, while the Bruins fall to 9-8 with a 4-5 conference mark. The win was the Lady Camels' first inside the Curb Event Center since taking a 62-60 victory January of 2004. Cloxton's 22 points came on 8-of-11 shooting, with a 4-for-5 clip from behind the arc. The Winfield, W.Va. native added four rebounds and four assists in the win. Senior forward Geami Britt added 17 points, one short of a season-high, with four assists and a pair of rebounds. Freshman forward Jazmine Cooper also registered a season-high with 11 points, adding six rebounds and a pair of steals. Junior guard Courtney Cannon chipped in nine points, while freshman guard Tonisha Baker collected six points. Both Cannon and Baker grabbed two rebounds apiece. Senior guard Amber Rockwell led Belmont with 18 points, hitting six of her 18 shot attempts that included a 3-of-12 rate from three. Sophomore center Haley Nelson posted 14 points and eight rebounds on the night, adding three blocks. |
