Thursday, February 25, 2010 MACON, Ga. – In its third year of existence, A-Sun.TV has always been around to feature broadcasts from many athletic events around the Atlantic Sun Conference. But at this time of year, the General Shale Brick Atlantic Sun Championships headlines A-Sun TV coverage. With the tournament less than a week away, it’s time to remind everyone of the benefits of A-Sun.TV and how it promotes all Atlantic Sun contests during the year. The conference’s looks to provide something special for its viewers at this year as A-Sun.TV will feature all of the tournament first-round games Wednesday and Thursday at no cost to viewers. “ASun.TV is a fantastic tool for all our conference schools,” Commissioner Ted Gumbart said. “For fans that can't be at the games, it provides a direct connection to their team. It brings great exposure for our terrific student-athletes and our outstanding A-Sun institutions, and we are excited about bringing all eight first-round games of the General Shale Brick A-Sun Basketball Championships free to everyone with internet access.” Coaches also note the important role that this service brings to the 11-member schools and their fans. Usually visiting your favorite teams is an easy task, but other times, access to the athletic events happening in the league is not so easy, especially around championship times. “The addition of A-Sun.TV has played an integral role since being introduced three years ago," ETSU women's basketball head coach Karen Kemp said. "This has given fans an opportunity to watch games that they may have never been able to see in the past; so to broadcast the first-round free of charge is a great way to reward the fans who cannot travel to Macon. The upcoming tournament is going to be very competitive, and we are looking forward to the Atlantic Sun and Mercer hosting such an exciting weekend of basketball." All eight quarterfinal games, scheduled for noon, 2:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. each day will be offered for at no cost on A-Sun.Tv. A-Sun.TV packages are available on a yearly, monthly or per-event basis. For more information on the service click HERE or to sign-up or renew, click HERE.
