MACON, Ga. - Each day from Oct. 29th through Nov. 12th, the Atlantic Sun Conference will preview the upcoming 2010-11 women's basketball season with 11 Days of Atlantic Sun Women's Basketball. Today, we talk with Juliemay Syquio, a senior guard for the UNF Ospreys.

Top Returning Scorer: Brittany Kirkland, Junior Guard – Brittany Kirkland, a Preseason Atlantic Sun All-Conference member, Kirkland enters her junior season as the top returning scorer in the whole conference after producing 14.5 points per game and adding 3.5 assists and 3.o rebounds each game. In 26 games last year, Kirkland reached double figures in points and also led the team in scoring on 22 occasions, while also earning A-Sun All-Tournament honors after leading the Ospreys to the A-Sun Championship Final.

Season Opening Game: UNF at UNC, Nov. 12th at 4 p.m. - The Ospreys season begins with a trip to Chapel Hill, N.C. for a matchup with UNC, who reached the NCAA Tournament last year as a 10-seed before falling to Gonzaga in the first round. The Tar Heels return all five starters from a 19-12 season, while UNF brings back three starters of their own.

Conference Game to Watch: Kennesaw State at UNF, Feb. 20th at Noon –The season series between the Owls and Ospreys came down to home turf as both squads held serve on their campuses. UNF walked away with a 17-point victory in Jacksonville, but fell on the road by four points in Kennesaw. Kirkland led the Ospreys’ offensive attack in the home victory with 21 points and was aided by Syquio’s 11 points.
