Eagles, Bruins Set for Monday Matchup on CSS

NASHVILLE - The Atlantic Sun Conference leading, FGCU Eagles storm into the Curb Event Center to take on the Belmont Bruins in the CSS/A-Sun Game of the Week. In the previous meeting this season, the Eagles came away with a decisive 79-39 victory in Alico Arena, but the Bruins went on to win three of their next four games after the loss.

FGCU currently stands at 9-1 in conference play just one game ahead of second-place ETSU, while the Bruins sit in ninth place at 4-8 having dropped their previous five A-Sun outings. Three of Belmont's four conference victories have come at the Curb Event Center, while the Eagles hold a 5-1 conference road record with their lone blemish coming against Stetson on Jan. 20th.

The Bruins are led by junior post player Haley Nelson, who averages 13.2 ppg and 8.4 rpg both of which are best on the team. FGCU has a trio of scoreres that each rank in the top-15 of scoring in the conference; Sarah Hansen (12.8 ppg; 12th), Kelsey Jacobson (12.2 ppg; 14th) and Shannon Murphy (11.8 ppg; 15th). The Eagles enter the game as the fifth-ranked team in the CollegeInsider.com Women's Mid-Major Poll.
