FGCU Jump Up to No. 4 in Women's Mid-Major Poll

MACON, Ga. - After sweeping through the Music City last weekend, FGCU improved to No. 4 in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll and also picked up more votes in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll. The Eagles currently stand at 17-1 and 10-1 in the Atlantic Sun and are one of five one-loss teams remaining in Division I (UConn, Duke, Baylor, Green Bay).

Last week, the Blue and Green dropped to fifth place in the mid-major poll after falling at Stetson. FGCU reached as high as No. 2 in the poll by starting the season with 14-straight wins.

The Eagles also received six votes to rank No. 32 in this week's USA Today/ESPN Top 25 Coaches’ Poll that was released on Tuesday, Feb. 1. FGCU has now received votes in the past eight editions of the ranking and also earned votes in four weeks of the AP Top-25 Poll.

The Blue and Green will return to the court on Saturday, Feb. 5 when they host the Spartans of USC Upstate (12-9 overall, 8-4 A-Sun) at Alico Arena. Tip is set for 7:05 p.m. and the game can be seen live ASun.TV.
