MACON, Ga. – After taking down USC Upstate and ETSU at Alico Arena, FGCU moved two steps closer to claiming their second Atlantic Sun Conference women’s basketball regular-season title. Courtney Chihil’s performance led the Eagles as she nearly recorded a triple-double against the Lady Bucs and registered a career-high 22 points vs. the Spartans. ETSU’s Destiny Mitchell continued to show the A-Sun she is a force to be reckoned with by recording two double-doubles on the week en route to claiming her fourth A-Sun Newcomer of the Week award.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Courtney Chihil, FGCU (Guard – Jr. – Tipp City, Ohio – Nursing)
• Second A-Sun Player of the Week award
• Nearly recorded a triple-double in win against ETSU with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists
• Scored career-high 22 points against USC Upstate on 6-of-10 shooting
• Extended FGCU’s home-winning streak to 34; nation’s third-longest streak
• On the week averaged 17.5 PPG, 7.5 APG, 7.0 RPG and 2.5 SPG

• Larkira Jones (Forward, UNF) – Defensive force for UNF during 2-0 week with 12.0 RPG, 5.5 BPG and 2.5 SPG
• Tereva Moore (Forward, Belmont) – Picked up second career double-double at Jacksonville with 16 points and 12 boards
• Monique Spry (Guard, Campbell) – Led the Camels to a win at Mercer with career-high 22 points on 7-for-11 shooting
• Ashley Holliday (Guard, Kennesaw State) – Notched game-high 25 points in win against Campbell; hit seven three-pointers
• Chelsea McMillan (Center, USC Upstate) – Averaged 22.0 PPG and 12.5 RPG; Collected 28 points at Stetson

NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK:
Destiny Mitchell, ETSU (Forward – Fr. – Bluffton ,Ga. – Criminal Justice)
• Fourth A-Sun Newcomer of the Week; Fifth overall award
• Reached 11 double-doubles on the season after averaging 18.5 PPG, 11.5 PPG on 16-of-23 from the field
• ETSU clinched a spot in the Atlantic Sun Championship for the sixth-straight season
• Scored 20 points at Stetson; fourth 20-point game of the season
• Second in the conference in double-doubles

OTHER NOMINEES:
• Victoria McGowan (Guard, Stetson) – Scored a career-high 26 against USC Upstate adding seven rebounds, six assists and four steals
• Taylor Smith (Forward, UNF) – Helped UNF to a 2-0 record averaging 11.0 PPG including career-high of 15 vs Belmont
• Molly Ernst (Guard, Belmont) – Knocked down seven three-pointers en route to averaging 13.5 PPG
• Chelcey Farrar (Guard, Kennesaw State) – Nearly recorded double-double with 10 points and eight boards in win vs. Campbell
• Sarah Hansen (Guard, FGCU) – Averaged 13.5 PPG, 6.5 RPG in wins against USC Upstate and ETSU
