Hatters Earn Showdown With Top-Seed Lady Vols

DELAND, Fla. - The Atlantic Sun Tournament Champions, Stetson Hatters earned a game with top-seeded Tennessee Lady Volunteers in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament, announced Monday by the Selection Committee. The Hatters, a 16-seed, square off with the Lady Vols in Knoxville, Tenn. on Saturday, March 19th at 11 a.m on ESPN2.

Stetson enters the NCAA Tournament for the third-time in program history and with a 20-12 overall record and 13-7 in league play. The Lady Vols (31-2) dropped only two contests during the season and are the fourth-ranked team in the nation behind UConn, Stanford and Baylor.

Head Coach Lynn Bria will be making her second appearance in the tournament having previously guided UCF to the Big Dance in 1999. The last A-Sun team to capture a victory in the tournament was FIU in 1998.
