FGCU Advances in WNIT; Faces Florida on Monday

FORT MYERS, Fla. - With a 73-67 victory against Drexel at Alico Arena on Friday night, FGCU claimed its third WNIT victory in the last four seasons and advances to host Florida on Monday. Four Eagles reached double figures in points led by Nicoya Jackson's 17 and 15 from Shannon Murphy and Kelsey Jacobson.

FGCU, the nation's best three-point shooting team, hit eight trifectas in the game and outscored Drexel by nine in the second half after trailing 37-34 at the break. The win marks the 42 consecutive victory for the Eagles at Alico Arena, the nation's third-longest streak behind UConn and Stanford.

The Blue and Green advance to the second round where they host the Florida Gators on Monday at 7:05 p.m.
