Thursday, October 27, 2011 MACON, Ga. - The 2011-12 Atlantic Sun Conference Women's Basketball Season gets underway on Friday, Nov. 11th and prior to that date the A-Sun office will preview each of the ten member institutions. Kennesaw State's Art Eckman sits down with the Owls Head Coach Colby Tilley and Taylor Mills in the Kennesaw State season preview. Women's Basketball Capsule Coaches Poll Predicted Finish: 9th Media Poll Predicted Finish: 8th2010-11 Overall Record (A-Sun): 9-21 (6-14; 10th) Season Schedule // Roster Notes: • Last season, the Owls posted a 8-5 home record with six of those wins coming in A-Sun games. Kennesaw State defeated FGCU at home and also posted a four-game win streak from Jan. 22 to Feb. 7th. This season, Kennesaw State has four non-conference home games. • Junior forward Sametria Gideon averaged 11.9 points and 10.4 rebounds to make her one of two players in the A-Sun to average a double-double throughout the year. Gideon registered 12 double-doubles in total, which ranked third in the conference. • Head Coach Colby Tilley is the most experienced coach in the A-Sun as he enters his 35th year on the sidelines. Tilley has 727 wins in his career and 275 in his 16 years as Kennesaw State's head coach. • Ashley Holliday knocked down nine three-pointers in a game against Mercer last season, which tied the A-Sun record for most three-point field goals in a contest. For the season, Holliday nailed 72 long-range shots, which ranked fourth in the conference.
