Jacobson and Eagles Have Record Nights vs. Webber International

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Senior Kelsey Jacobson (Barnesville, Minn./Moorhead HS) scored her 1,000th career point and the FGCU women’s basketball team (4-1) tied the NCAA record for three-pointers made in a single game with 21, en route to a 106-27 win over NAIA foe Webber International (0-7) on Monday night at Alico Arena.

Jacobson, who now has 1,007 career-points, became the fourth player in program history to score 1,000 career points when she drained a three-pointer with 7:28 left in the first half. She became the 91st student-athlete in A-Sun history to reach the career mark and currently ranks 88th all-time.

The Eagles’ 21 three-point ranks them tied for first place tie all-time with New Mexico State. The Aggies drained 21 triples against Louisiana-Lafayette on Feb. 23, 2002. The 21 threes are also an A-Sun record, as FGCU made six treys in the first half and 15 in the second. The Green and Blue hit 15-of-26 trifectas in the final frame in which they out-scored the Warriors 60-19.
