MACON, Ga. - FGCU's Nicoya Jackson led the Eagles a 69-41 blowout win against Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) foe, Virginia Tech, with an all-around performance, while Mercer's Alicia Williams set new career-highs in points, rebounds and blocks at UNC Asheville to secure the Atlantic Sun Women's Basketball Weekly Honors, announced Tuesday by the league office.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Nicoya Jackson, FGCU (Sr. – Guard – Houston, Texas – Criminal Justice)
- Second Career Player of the Week award; second this season
- Poured in 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals vs Virginia Tech
- The Eagles' 69-41 win vs. Hokies marked program's second win vs. ACC foe
- Also tabbed College Sports Madness Mid-Major National Player of the Week
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Briana Williams (So., Mercer) – Tallied 23 points, six rebounds and four assists at UNC Asheville
- Ashley Holliday (Jr., Kennesaw State) – Scored team-high 17 points in Win against Troy
- Destiny Mitchell (So., ETSU) – Averaged 13.5 PPG and 9.0 RPG; secured first double-double of season in win vs. Morehead State
