Wednesday, January 18, 2012 MACON, Ga. - FGCU improved one spot in the CollegeInsider.com Women's Mid-Major Poll to third in the nation, while Stetson fell two spots to No. 20 after suffering its first conference loss. The Eagles picked up three wins on the week including a sweep on the road in Nashville against Belmont and Lipscomb. The Hatters went 2-1 on the week with the lone loss coming at the hands of Belmont. FGCU (16-2; 8-0) and Stetson (16-4; 7-1) are first and second in the conference standings and are tied for fifth in the nation in total wins only trailing; Notre Dame (18), Maryland (17), Baylor (17) and Ohio State (17). Green Bay and Delaware are the only teams ahead of FGCU in the women's rankings.
