FGCU's Hansen Named Atlantic Sun Scholar Athlete of the Year

MACON, Ga. – The Atlantic Sun Conference honored Sarah Hansen of FGCU as the Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year to highlight the league’s Academic All-Conference team.

Hansen helped the Eagles to the one-seed in the Atlantic Sun Basketball Championship and a 26-2 overall record this season and a perfect 18-0 in conference play. The senior forward ranks fifth in the conference in scoring with 13.8 PPG and is third in field goal percentage (.515). Hansen has a 3.95 GPA while majoring in chemistry.

The A-Sun introduced the new sport-by-sport Academic All-Conference teams this fall to recognize student-athletes who embody the conference’s mission of Building Winners for Life. All the members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or better and participated in at least half of their team’s games.
