Hatters Fall in NCAA Tournament to Third-Seeded UCLA

MACON, Ga. - Stetson's season came to a close as they fell 66-49 to third-seeded UCLA in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Head Coach Lynn Bria and the Hatters end the season with a 24-9 record; their best season in program history.

Stetson traveled to Columbus, Ohio as a No. 14 seed after winning the Atlantic Sun Championship.

The Hatters struggled to make their shots fall as the Bruins held them to 29 percent from the field.

Stetson's senior and A-Sun First Team All-Conference selection, Victoria McGowan, registered her sixth double-double of the season with a game-high in points (14) and rebounds (14). McGowan also added five assists and a steal for the Hatters.

A-Sun All-Tournament Team member, Sasha Sims, contributed 13 points, seven rebounds and two blocks in the game.

This year, the Hatters set school records for most wins in a season (24), most conference wins in a single season (14), longest winning streak (11) and longest home court win streak (16).

UCLA currently ranks No. 11 in the AP Women's Basketball Top-25 Poll.
