Three Campbell Rookies Inducted Into Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society

BUIES CREEK, N.C.— Three Campbell women’s basketball freshmen were inducted to
the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society this past week.
Cara Bell, Gara Bell and Lieset van den Heuvel well all honored in a campus-wide
ceremony. In order to be eligible for Phi Eta Sigma, a student must have a 3.5
grade point average their freshman year.
“We are extremely proud of all three of them for the outstanding job they have
done in maintaining high academic standards along with their basketball obligations,”
Campbell head coach Wanda Watkins said. “They epitomize the true student-athlete
and we commend them for their excellence.”
Both Cara and Gara Bell are both majoring in education, while van den Heuvel is
majoring in both biology and pre-med. Cara Bell saw action in five games last
season for the Lady Camels. Gara Bell and van den Heuvel both took redshirts this
past year and both will be looked upon to be key contributors in 2006-07.
