Saturday, November 12, 2005 Gainesville, Fla. – The Belmont and Jacksonville women's cross country teams finished in the 15th and 19th respectively at Saturday's NCAA South Regional hosted by the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, marking the final race for the season.The Belmont women’s team placed 15th out of 24 teams. They finished with a team score of 385. The overall team champion was Tennessee, who finished with 76 points. BU had two runners among the top-40. They were led by sophomore All-Conference pick Lauren Williams, who finished in 32nd place with a time of 22:05.33. Fellow sophomore Elizabeth Smothers posted a 40th place finish and a time of 22:18.55. Smothers was also an All-Conference selection. Other Belmont finishers included sophomore Lindsay Honea (83rd,23:14.93), Megan Saunders (126th, 24:01.66), and All-Freshman Laura Kaplan (137th, 24:23.39). All-Conference sophomore Fallon Heffernan placed 39th to help Jacksonville to a top-20 finish with 492 points. Heffernan paced the Dolphin runners with a time of 22:14.77. Senior Lindsey Moffenbier finished 80th with a time of 23:09.20, while senior Rachel Garvin ranked 93rd (23:26.53) in her final met as a Dolphin. Sophomore Danielle Coyle placed 162nd with 25:37.71. Junior Stacey Ollar battled through tendonitis to finish 171st with a time of 27:23.26.
