MACON, Ga. -- Gardner-Webb's Michele Milner was named Atlantic Sun Runner of the Week by the conference office on Wednesday after claiming the Clemson Invitational last Saturday. She finished the 5K race in 18:36 and led the Bulldogs to a third place finish.

Milner's time is currently the fastest in the league. This is the first Runner of the Week award for the Aiken, S.C. native. She is majoring in nursing.

Gardner-Webb will be back in action Friday, Sept. 15 at the WCU Invitational.

The Atlantic Sun Conference announces the Athlete of the Week every Wednesday during the 2006 cross country season.

The 10-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., includes Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Florida and Stetson, with Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate to compete in 2007.
