Thursday, March 11, 2010 MACON, Ga. - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its All-Academic Team honors with six Atlantic Sun squads picking up the award. Belmont and Lipscomb led the way in the All-Academic Team honors with both their men’s and women’s squads getting the nod. The Bisons’ women’s cross country team posted the best grade point average (GPA) in Atlantic Sun overall with a mark of 3.51. Lipscomb’s men’s squad posted the top GPA among male teams with a 3.49. Atlantic Sun Women’s Cross Country champion Jacksonville joined the UNF women’s squad as the only two other schools to in the academic accolade. For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Championship and also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative GPA.
