Sang Races to Clemson Title; A-Sun Weekly Award

MACON, Ga. – USC Upstate's Jemeli Sang won her first collegiate race by defeating 113 other competitors at the Clemson Invitational, where she set a school record in the 6,000-meter race in a time of 20:42.88.

  • Sang's first collegiate win came against runners from No. 6 Florida State, Clemson, Georgia Tech and others

  • Tessa Hoefle (So., Lipscomb) - Finished second at Commodore Invitational 5K in 18:05.40
  • Caitlin Standifer (Sr., Belmont) - Crossed the finish line at Commodore Classic in 18:17.20
  • Lena Hamvas (So., Mercer) - Claimed third place in 19:27.38 at RunFit Sports Invitational
