Wednesday, September 21, 2011 MACON, Ga. – North Florida remained as the top team in the Atlantic Sun Conference Women's Cross Country Coaches Poll after three weeks of competition. The Ospreys earned nine of the first-place votes ahead of Lipscomb in second and Jacksonville in third. There were no changes in positioning since the previous poll on September 7th. Cross Country Notes: • USC Upstate's Jemeli Sang raced to first place at the Clemson 6K Invitational in record fashion as her 20:42.88 set a new Spartans program record in 6K races. Tangwar defeated 113 competitors in the race including teammate Joan Tangwar, who finished third in 20:49.08. As a team, the Spartans finished 6th just in front of Georgia Tech. • North Florida, Lipscomb and Jacksonville all remained in the USTFCCCA South Region Poll, announced on Sept. 19th, to give the A-Sun three representatives in the top-15 of the region. • This past weekend, seven A-Sun teams competed in meets and all seven came away with top-10 finishes. Lipscomb and Mercer were at the forefront finishing second at the Commodore Classic and RunFit Sport Invitational, respectively, while Belmont (3rd), Kennesaw State (4th) and ETSU (5th) earned top-five finishes in their respective meets. USC Upstate (6th) and FGCU (9th) rounded out the top-10 performances
