Defending A-Sun Champ UNF Claims FSU Title

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The University of North Florida women's cross country team won their second meet in two tries at the Seminole Invitational on Friday evening. The Ospreys, previously victorious at the Covered Bridge Invite in Boone, N.C., placed all five of their scoring runners in the top 15 of the 162-person race to take first-place honors.

Senior Erin Nixon (17:54.62) placed fourth to lead the way for the Ospreys in the 5-kilometer race, edging out junior Maggie Emons (18:00.83), who finished seventh. Junior Shelby Kittrell (18:12.48) placed 10th to give UNF three runners in the top ten, while freshman Elle Baker (18:29.62) and junior Ecateri Gheorghiu (18:36.85) fininshed 14th and 15th, respectively.
