Friday, October 14, 2011 ORLANDO, Fla. - Junior Joane Pierre won her second straight meet to help the JU women’s cross country team tie for first place at the UCF Attack Challenge on Friday. Despite running short-handed without some team members, the Dolphins posted 88 points to sit atop the standings fwith UCF. Pierre took first for the second straight week with a time of 21:47.32. Sophomore Svenja Meyer ran a 22:47.95 for sixth place. “Joane ran really well and has set herself up nicely for a shot to win an individual conference championship,” JU head coach Ron Grigg said. Freshman Sarah Bailey finished 12th in 23:34.60, while junior Amalia Vogler ran a 24:14.51 for 29th. Junior Alicia Gard-Kaminkow ran a time of 24:45.23 (40th) to finish the JU group.
