Pierre Finishes Second at FSU; Earns Women's XC Weekly Honor

MACON, Ga. - Jacksonville's Joane Pierre ran to a second-place finish at the Florida State Invitational to earn her third career Atlantic Sun Women's Runner of the Week honor.

WOMEN'S RUNNER OF THE WEEK: Joane Pierre, Jacksonville (Sr. – Immokalee, Fla. - Management)

  • Third Career Atlantic Sun Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week award
  • Crossed the line second in a 202 runner field helping the Dolphins finish fourth overall
  • Broke the JU 6k program record with a time of 21:10.8 at the FSU Invitational
  • Pierre's 6k time passed former JU cross country runner Elisa Goshu who ran a 21:34 at the NCAA Regional in 2009.

OTHER NOMINEES:

  • Barrie Cohen (Sr., FGCU) – Placed second overall in the Walt Disney World Classic 5K with a time of 19:00.40
  • Heather Morris (Jr., Kennesaw State) – Ran her best time of the season with a 5k time of 23:19.4 at the FSU Invitational
