Pierre Advances to NCAA Championship; Walker All-Region

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Atlantic Sun Conference women's cross country champion Joane Pierre continued the strong close to her senior campaign with a seventh place finish at the NCAA South Regional, earning an individual berth in the National Championship.

The JU standout set the program record in the 6K to highlight a terrific day for A-Sun teams at the regional. Behind the efforts of its outstanding duo of runners Dani Walker and Tesse Hoefle, Lipscomb placed seventh in the team standings. The Lady Bisons earned the best regional finish in program history to close out a year in which they also defended their A-Sun title. Walker finished 18th overall while Hoefle checked in at 48th.

Walker and Pierre both claimed All-Region accolades for their performance.

Shelby Kittrell of North Florida (33rd) and Katlyn Will of Mercer (39th) each posted top-40 times.

The NCAA National Championship will be Saturday, November 17 hosted by the University of Louisville at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park.
