Macon, Ga. – Belmont once again tops the Atlantic Sun Women’s Cross Country
poll, but Campbell continues to stay on the Bruins' heels.
Belmont received 113 points including six first place votes from the league's
11 head coaches. Campbell, only five points off the pace received 108 points
and three first place votes. Florida Atlantic (91 points) and Kennesaw State
(83 points) maintained the third and fourth place spots, while UNF (60 points)
dropped to sixth as ETSU leap-frogged the Ospreys by 11 points to round out
the top-5.
The A-Sun is back in action today as Campbell competes at the Winthrop Fall
Classic, Gardner-Webb will run at the Appalachian Invitational, and Belmont,
Kennesaw State and UNF will compete at the Georgia State Invitational.
The Cross Country poll serves as the conference standings and is announced
on the 1st and 15th of the month during the season.
The Atlantic Sun Cross Country Championship will be held Saturday, October
29, 2005. Campbell University will serve as host.
