MACON, Ga. – Two weeks ago, UNF’s Amanda Davey followed Kennesaw State’s Erin Sutton as the Atlantic Sun’s Female Runner of the Week. Last week Sutton won her second award of the season and this weekend Davey answered back, running the fastest 5K by an A-Sun woman this season. Her time of 18:26 at the Florida State Invitational earned Davey her second Runner of the Week award as announced by the conference office Wednesday.
Davey’s time was good enough for a fifth-place finish out of 94 runners at the FSU Invite. The senior criminal justice major finished less than a minute behind the first place finisher. Davey helped lead the Lady Ospreys to a third place finish out of 10 teams. Davey reduced her time by almost 15 seconds from her 5K time at the UF/Mountain Dew Invitational on September 7 when she finished 14th out of 175 runners en route to winning her prior Runner of the Week award.
