Campbell's Sofia Gorelik Named A-Sun Golfer of the Month

Macon, Ga. – Campbell’s Sofia Gorelik and ETSU’s Rhys Davies earned Atlantic Sun Golfer of the Month Honors as announced by the league office.
Gorelik led Campbell to a runner-up showing at the Denver Ron Moore Women’s Intercollegiate after placing eighth individually. The three-time, first team All-Atlantic Sun performer shot a six-over par 222 during the 54-hole event, highlighted by an opening round 71. The performance marked the senior’s 11th career top-10 finish at Campbell. The Fighting Camels finished behind the host Pioneers in the team standings. Denver has reached NCAA regional play for five straight seasons and is ranked 35th nationally by Golfweek. Gorelik is a Graphic Design major.
Other top performers included Lorrie Warren (Belmont) and Ainsley Wellinghoff (Stetson) who each established new school scoring records during the first month of competition.
The Atlantic Sun Conference hands out Golfer of the Month awards on the first Thursday of every month during the 2005-06 campaign.
The 11-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Florida and Stetson.
