JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville women's golf team continues to pick up momentum in the stretch of the 2006 season as the Dolphins rallied from a three-stroke deficit to top Butler in the North-South Intercollegiate at the par 72 Jacksonville Beach Golf Club.
The Dolphins opened the tournament with a round of 313 to sit in third place, just three shots back of Butler. JU fired a 308 in the final round to pass Tennessee Tech and Butler to claim the title.
"I'm really proud of the team and how they responded today," said JU head coach Jim Taketa. "With a young team, we are making progress each tournament as they gain more experience. Learning how to come from behind and win tournaments like this will help us down the road."
