DRAPER VALLEY, Va. - Gardner-Webb's Claudine Foong claimed medalist honors at the Draper Valley Invitational. The senior used a clutch performance in the final round to secure her victory, firing the best third round score of the championship with a one-over par 73.

Foong finished tied for first with Western Carolina's Malin Fryk in the team's season opening event. Foong finished with a one-over par 217 to capture a share of the individual title. The Aurora, Ontario native used a two-under par 70 in the second round of the event to bolster her efforts.

As a team, the Bulldogs finished an impressive fifth overall and second out of the five A-Sun teams competing in the event.
