Alexandria Buelow becomes the first A-Sun women’s golfer to win back-to-back awards since Campbell’s Alejandra Shaw won three straight in March, April and September 2006. Wednesday, December 09, 2009 MACON, Ga. – Stetson freshman Alexandria Buelow won her first collegiate tournament to win her second consecutive Atlantic Sun Women’s Golfer of the Month award, the conference office announced on Wednesday. Buelow becomes the first A-Sun women’s golfer to win back-to-back awards since Campbell’s Shaw won three straight in March, April and September 2006. Buelow’s first career collegiate medalist title helped Stetson overcome a seven-shot deficit in the final round of the Hatter Fall Classic Nov. 2-3 at Victoria Hills Golf Club in DeLand, Fla. The team championship marked the third consecutive year that the Hatters have won their annual home tournament. The sport management major from Palm City, Fla., finished the fall season with a 73.1 stroke average, a .965 head-to-head winning percentage (362-13) and seven even par or better scores in 14 rounds. Buelow ranks 61st in the nation and 12th among all freshmen in the latest GolfStat.com rankings. The Hatters as a team place 65th. Fans can follow the Atlantic Sun on Twitter and on Facebook.
