WILMINGTON, N.C. (May 19, 2010) – Despite poor weather conditions throughout the day, ETSU sophomore Nina Muehl (Vienna, Austria) posted a solid score during second round play in the NCAA Championships Wednesday at the Country Club of Landfall.

Muehl, the first female golfer in ETSU history to participate in the finals, carded a 1-over-par 73 in the second round to move up 25 spots on the leaderboard and end the day tied for 62nd. After finishing with a 5-over 77 in the first round, Muehl posted the type of score she needed to regain her confidence and improve her standing.

“The rain and thunderstorms made it tough all day,” said ETSU head coach Stefanie Shelton. “But I was really proud of Nina because even with the bad weather she remained very composed all day and hit the ball well.”
