Friday, May 21, 2010

WILMINGTON, N.C. (May 21, 2010) – A historic week and season came to an end for ETSU’s Nina Muehl (Vienna, Austria) on Friday, as the sophomore carded a final round score of 3-over-par 75 in the NCAA Championships at the Country Club of Landfall.

Muehl, who became the first ETSU woman golfer to participate in the national championships, ultimately finished tied for 92nd on the leaderboard. She said her experience was both unforgettable and inspiring.

“I really enjoyed competing with the best players in the country this week,” Muehl said. “I will take a lot of new experience with me from this tournament, and what I really saw was that our team is able to compete at this level. Our entire team has enough talent to make it next year.

“Especially now that I had a chance to see how professional this tournament is when it comes to the difficulty of the course and the skill of the other players, I want to share this experience with our whole team next year. That’s the goal.”
