MACON, Ga. – The 2011 Atlantic Sun Women's Golf Freshman of the Year, ETSU's Sian Evans claimed a fifth-place finish at the Wild Eggs Cardinal Cup to kick off her fall season as she earned the A-Sun Women's Golfer of the Week award, announced Wednesday by the league office.

WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK:
Sian Evans, ETSU (So. – Gillingham, England – Kinesiology)

  • First Career Golfer of the Week award
  • Placed fifth at Wild Eggs Cardinal Cup at 5-over-par, 149
  • Led Lady Bucs to a sixth-place finish at the tournament ahead of Maryland, Memphis among others
  • Finished only four strokes behind the individual medalist
OTHER NOMINEES:
  • Lacey Fears (So., Mercer) – Won the Eat-A-Peach Collegiate with a one-over par 145 to lead Bears to tournament title
