MACON, Ga. - North Florida sophomore Tess Huber carded a career-best 71 (-1) in the first round and finished third while leading the Ospreys to a program best second-place finish at the rain-shortened JU Classic to earn #ASunWGolf Player of the Week honors.
Huber's finish is also a career best and her first round marks the second under-par round by an Osprey and matches the program record low for a single round in the program's second year of existence. She shot a one-over 145 (71-74) for her 36-hole total and led the tournament field of 63 players with 30 pars.
Huber tallied her fifth career top-10 finish which is also the second consecutive achievement for her this fall. She helped lead the Ospreys to a program best second-place finish including a school record score of 295 in the opening round.
This is her first career A-Sun Player of the Week award. Huber ends the fall with a team-leading 75.27 average.
