Greeneville, Tenn. – The Belmont ‘s women’s golf team cruised to their second win of the season at the Agnes McAmis Memorial Tournament on Tuesday, defeating second place Newberry College by ten strokes. Lorie Warren made a ten-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole for a 71 on the day, securing her second individual win of the season. Her 71 tied her own school record for lowest 18-hole score.
The team shot 309 on Monday and 310 on Tuesday to secure the win. Warren, who shot 145(+1) for the tournament, was joined in the top ten by three teammates, as Esther Moon placed ninth with a combined 156(+12). Rebekah Wilson and Audra Williams shot identical 80 and 77 rounds to tie for tenth place at 157(+13).
Ashleigh Garman shot 83 on Tuesday to finish at 161(+17), Mary Alice Orr closed out the tournament with a pair of 81 stroke rounds to finish with a score of 162(+18), and Lauren Oeser shot 81 and 83 to finish at 164(+20), 31st place out of 100 competitors from 17 schools.
