Camels' Mattson Leads After 36 at CSU Ram Fall Classic

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Mary Mattson followed a first-round 72 with a two-under 70 on Monday to take the lead after 36 holes of the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic women’s golf tournament.
The Campbell University sophomore from Ijamsville, Md., played bogey-free golf over the second 18 holes, producing a pair of birdies and 16 pars to take a two-stroke lead into Tuesday’s final round. Shannon Yocum of California (73-71—144) is second, followed by Cal teammate Pia Halbig (71-74) and Brigham Young’s Daphne Vines (75-70) at 145.
Campbell senior Maite Ortiz de Pinedo shot an even-par 72 over the second round and is tied for 10th place at 147. Junior Veronika Falathova carded a second-round 75 and is tied for 50th (80-75—155), helping Campbell jump from ninth place after 18 holes to a sixth-place tie entering the final round.
