ETSU's Ricciardi Completes Athlete of the Week Sweep

Macon, Ga. -- ETSU sweeps Athlete of the Week honors today as Anna Marie Ricciardi was also tabbed with the distinction today by the conference office.

The junior from Canfield, Ohio won the high jump at the Niswonger Invitational over the weekend, leaping a personal best 1.75 meters (5-8.75) for her second title of the season. Ricciardi dominated the high jump field with no other competitor clearing 1.65 meters (5-5), and came within one inch of posting a NCAA Provisional qualifying mark. Her jump was also just one-quarter of an inch off the school record of 5-9 set by Kim Harrell in 1980, and one-inch off an NCAA Provisional qualifying mark.

Ricciardi is a public relations major.

The Atlantic Sun Athlete of the Week is announced every Wednesday during the 2006 indoor track season.

The 11-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Florida and Stetson.
