UNF’s Anderson and King Sweep Weekly Honors

MACON, Ga. - UNF swept the weekly Atlantic Sun Women’s Track and Field honors with Christina King earning the field honor and Charisma Anderson earning the track accolade. 

In the UNF Spring Break Invitational, Anderson took a third place finish in the finals of the 100-meter with her time of 12.14 in the finals, just hundredths of a second off of her time of 12.08 which the Tallahassee, Fla. native ran the day before in the prelims. The 4x100m relay team broke UNF’s school record with a time of 46.59 being the last leg in the race. The sophomore ranks second in the 200-meter (24.62) and eighth in the 100-meter (12.08) in the 2010 NCAA Division I (All) Outdoor POP List.

In the UNF Spring Break Open, Anderson vaulted 3.65-meters for a second-place finish. The sophomore from Port Orange, Fla. tied for fifth on the 2010 NCAA Division I (All) Outdoor POP List.

Anastasia Fokina, Jacksonville (So. - Distance - Dimitrov, Moscow, Russia. - Business) – Fokina stood as one of the highlights for the Jacksonville Dolphins at the UNF Spring Break Open after winning the 800-meter with a time of 2:15.12.

Carolyne Chelulei, USC Upstate (So. - Distance - Eldoret, Kenya - Nursing) – After a individual championship at last week's A-Sun Indoor Championships, Chelulei recorded a second-place finish at Saturday's Virginia Tech Final Qualifier. The Eldoret, Kenya native posted a time of 5:01.50, which set a new USC Upstate school record. Chelulei finished ahead of ACC competitors Alyssa Kulik (5:02.45) of Clemson University and Jessica Trapeni (5:04.81) of Virginia Tech.

Amanda Twigg, Lipscomb (Fr. - Middle Distance - Cumberland, Md. - Education) – In the women’s 1500-meter at the UNF Invite, Twigg continued her excellent freshman campaign, winning a tactical race in 4:52.44. The Cumberland, Md. native led a trio of Lipscomb freshmen women under 5:00 in the first outdoor meet of the year (Meredith McFarlin 4:58.05, Emily Longden 4:58.94)
