MACON, Ga. – ETSU’s Jasmine Ingram and Belmont’s Liz Codrington opened the 2010-11 Indoor Track & Field season by earning the Atlantic Sun Conference Weekly awards, announced by the league office Wednesday. Ingram set a personal record in the 200m dash at the Appalachian Collegiate Indoor en route to placing in the top-three in three different events, while Codrington leaped to two top-ten finishes in the long and triple jumps.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:
Jasmine Ingram (ETSU – Sprints – Sr. – Frederick, Md.)
• Fourth Career A-Sun Track Athlete of the Week award
• Posted three top-three finishes at the Appalachian Collegiate Indoor
• Set a personal record in the 200m (24.92) to take second place
• Also finished second in the 400m (56.39) and third in 4x400m (3:59.56)
• Ranks fourth nationally in the 400m dash and 16th in the 200m
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:
Liz Codrington (Belmont – Jumps – Sr. – Gretna, La. – Pharmaceutical Studies)
• Second A-Sun Field Athlete of the Week award
• Finished eighth in the long jump (5.59m) and 10th in the triple jump (11.35m) at Saluki Fast Start
• Also competed in the 60m dash finishing in a time of 8.29
• Currently ranks 30th in the nation in long jump and 37th nationally in triple jump
OTHER NOMINEES:
• Taylor Story (Jumps, ETSU) – Set a personal record 5’5.75” in the high jump for third place
• Fallon Dickens (Middle Distance, Belmont) – Took second place in the 800m in 2:23.70
