MACON, Ga. - North Florida's Brianna Frazier and ETSU's Lexie Burley picked up the Atlantic Sun Women's Indoor Track and Field Performer of the Week Honors, announced Wednesday by the league office. Frazier posted the seventh-fastest time in the nation in the 200-meter dash, while Burley leaped to the 35th-best distance in the triple jump.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:
Brianna Frazier, North Florida (So. – Sprints – Jacksonville, Fla. – Sport Management)
- First Career Indoor Track Athlete of the Week Honor
- Top collegiate finisher in 200m at Jimmy Carnes Invite
- Her time of 23.87 is seventh-fastest in nation
- Leads the A-Sun by 0.94 seconds
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Alicia Whittle (Fr., Kennesaw State) – Broke school record in 60m (7.60) to place fourth at meet
- Sara Stephens (Jr., Lipscomb) – Finished 12th in 400m at Saluki Booster (1:00.32)
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:
Lexie Burley, ETSU (So. – Jumps – Johnson City, Tenn. – Physical Education)
- Second Career Field Athlete of the Week award
- Took sixth in triple jump at Virginia Tech Invitational
- Broke personal record by a foot with distance of 40'1.25
- Ranks 35th in the nation in event and best in A-Sun by nearly two feet
- Her performance would have ranked second best all-time if it occurred at A-Sun Championship
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Christina King (Sr., North Florida) – Placed first in pole vault at Jimmy Carnes Invite with 3.55m
- April Terry (Fr., Lipscomb) – Established school record in weight throw (46'9) and shot put (37'5.25)
- Stacey Young (Sr., Jacksonville) – Leads conference in both 55m Hurdles and Long Jump
