FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Junior Natasha Harvey of the JU women's indoor track & field team earned All-America honors in the long jump after she finished third in the NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., on Friday.
Harvey set a school and personal best with a mark of 21-8.00" in her first jump of the day.
"I am very proud of her and everything she has accomplished this year," said JU head coach Ron Grigg. "She is an amazing competitor and for her to record the second longest jump by an American this year is pretty special. It really is a tribute to all her hard work."
Shaquania Lundy also competed in the long jump and finished 16th with a jump of 19-08.75".
"I feel bad for Shaq because I messed up her warm up," Grigg said. "She was ready to compete earlier then she needed to be and was flat by the time the competition came around. That was my fault."
Mississippi junior Brittney Reese won the long jump with a mark of 22-02.25".
