Macon, Ga. -- Belmont rookie Lynette Rives earned her first Atlantic Sun Athlete
of the Week honor today after breaking a school record.
At the Tennessee State/Ed Temple Classic in Nashville, Rives placed third in the 200 meters and set a new school indoor record with
her time of 25.54. The old mark was 26.31 set by Audie Nodell in 2002.
The Clarksville, Tenn. native is majoring in biology.
The Atlantic Sun Athlete of the Week is announced every Wednesday during the
2005 cross country season.
The 11-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell,
ETSU, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb,
Mercer, North Florida and Stetson.
