STATESBORO, Ga. - The University of North Florida women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the 2005 season on Sunday as Georgia Southern squeaked past the Lady Ospreys 1-0 at Eagle Field.

Georgia Southern's Ashley Toussaint scored the game winner from the top of the 18-yard box at the 48:24 mark of the match to secure the win for the Eagles (1-1-0), who rebounded from a 6-0 loss to Georgia on Friday.

While the UNF offense failed to put the ball in the net, the Lady Ospreys (1-1-0) outshot Georgia Southern 15-11. Junior midfielder Courtney Forson led the charge for UNF with five shots, one of which was on goal. Junior forward Christine Brewer tallied four shots for the Lady Ospreys, two of which were on goal.

The only other Lady Osprey to tally multiple shots was freshman Elizabeth Gowan. The Palm City, Fla., native recorded two shots, including a shot on goal.

UNF will return to action on Friday when the Lady Ospreys travel to Miami for a showdown with Florida International at the FIU Tournament. That match is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. ET.

The Lady Ospreys are also scheduled to take on IPFW on Sunday at 10 a.m. ET.
