The Dolphins (8-9-3) began their comeback with the assist of an ETSU own goal with just over five minutes remaining in the match to tie the score at 1-1.

The Buccaneers (8-11-1) dominated the match until the closing minutes. The team’s first scoring opportunity came in the opening seconds as Alexandra Schwark fired a shot from just inside the penalty area over the crossbar. Right out of the intermission, a potential 2-on-1 breakaway was broken up by JU sweeper Kirby Hutton, and in the 54th minute, the apparent go-ahead goal was negated by a handball by an ETSU player in the box. Finally in the 61st minute, reserve Adrian Mobley put the Bucs in the lead after finishing a cross from Lauren Kulish that was re-directed by Schwark.

ETSU out-shot JU 15-to-3, but JU’s Michelle Kmiotek would surrender just the one goal despite the pressure.

The Dolphins advance to the semifinals for the second consecutive seasons. Jacksonville will face top-seeded Florida Atlantic at 4:00 pm at Varsity Field.
