Tuesday, November 29, 2005 A pair of Atlantic Sun Conference standouts were recently named as ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America selections as announced by College Sports Information Directors of America. Erin Ashton of ETSU earned second team honors following her senior campaign. The midfielder was also a second team All-Atlantic Sun selection and has rewritten the ETSU record books during her four years at ETSU by becoming the Bucs career leader in goals (35), assists (24) and shots (159). Ashton has a team high 3.897 GPA and is enrolled in the honors biology and pre-med program with a minor in philosophy. Leeanna Woodworth, a third team selection, has been named to the All-District Team in each of the past seasons along with being a three-time member of the Atlantic Sun Conference All-Academic Team. Woodworth has posted a sterling cumulative grade point average of 3.90 while majoring in Sports Management at Gardner-Webb. On the field, the senior is a three-time All A-Sun selection and was named the Conference Player of the Year following her record-breaking junior season. |
