MACON, Ga. - Kennesaw State, two-time Atlantic Sun Women’s Soccer Champions, gears up to face undefeated College of Charleston in the game of the week.  The game can be seen on ASun.TV on Friday at 7 p.m.

Last weekend, KSU competed in the Sports Academy Shootout, hosted by Wofford University. In the first match against Furman, Brittany Vining put the Owls ahead 2-0 before Beth Meadors tallied her third goal of the season. KSU struggled against Wofford, taking a 1-0 lead before allowing the Terriers to score the tying goal in the final 20 seconds of action. The match resulted in a 1-1 tie after two overtimes.

"We're excited to finally be playing at home, and this should be a quality match. Charleston is unbeaten this season, with several strong wins behind them,” said head coach Rob King. “We're looking to build on this past weekend's play and take a strong performance into next weekend's Conference opener"

Kennesaw State currently leads the A-Sun in almost half of the categories, including: shots, points, goals, assists, assists/game and corners. Caroline Austin leads the conference in assists, with five on the season.

The College of Charleston women's soccer team is ranked 15th in this week's SoccerBuzz Magazine Southeast Region Poll. The Cougars, off to the best start in program history at 7-0-0, earned a spot in the South Region poll for the first time since 2005.

The Cougars are coming off a 1-0 win over High Point this past Saturday, in which Megan Manthey scored her third game-winning goal of the season on a penalty kick in the 58th minute.
