Five Conference Games Remain in Women's Soccer

MACON, Ga. - With five games remaining in the 2010 Atlantic Sun Conference schedule, five teams have clinched a spot in the 2010 A-Sun Women’s Soccer Championship and the championship site has been determined as Jacksonville has won the No. 1 seed going into the tournament. Campbell and ETSU are still battling for the final spot in the tournament, while the regular season title is also up for grabs between Jacksonville and FGCU.

Below are the scenarios for each team to obtain the highest seed possible for the tournament:

Jacksonville – Clinched the No. 1 seed and win the regular season title with a victory against over UNF coupled with a FGCU loss/tie to Stetson

*FGCU – Wins the regular season title with a win against Stetson or loss/tie to the Hatters if Jacksonville falls to UNF

UNF – Clinches the No. 2 seed and first-round bye with victory against Jacksonville or Mercer loss and Kennesaw State loss/tie

Mercer – Clinches No. 2 seed and first-round bye with victory against Kennesaw State and UNF loss to Jacksonville

Kennesaw State – Clinches No. 2 seed and first-round bye with victory against Mercer and UNF loss/tie against Jacksonville

Stetson – Clinches No. 4 seed with victory against FGCU and Kennesaw State loss to Mercer.

Campbell – Clinches No. 6 seed and final spot in tournament with ETSU loss/tie to USC Upstate

ETSU – Clinches No. 5 seed with victory against USC Upstate and Stetson loss to FGCU. Takes No. 6 seed if Stetson ties/wins against the Eagles coupled with win against the Spartans

*- FGCU is not eligible for the 2010 A-Sun Women’s Soccer Championship during NCAA Reclassifying Period, but can win the regular season title.
