Elliot, Miller OT Heroics Share Player of the Week

MACON, Ga. – In the final weekend of Atlantic Sun women’s soccer regular season, overtime goals by Mercer’s Sara Elliot and ETSU’s Terri Miller resulted in a sharing of the last Player of the Week award. FGCU’s KC Correllus capped an Eagles’ regular-season championship season by winning the Defensive Player of the Week award, the conference announced on Monday

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: Sara Elliot, Mercer (Forward - Sr. - Atlanta, Ga. - Education)
• Second A-Sun Player of the Week award
• Recorded third goal of the season on her only shot of the game against Kennesaw State
• Game-winning goal came with just five second left in first overtime
• All three goals have been game-winners
• Win was program’s first ever against Kennesaw State
• Win gave Mercer the second seed in the A-Sun Championship

Terri Miller, ETSU (Forward - Sr. – Cape Coral, Fla. – Sports Management)
• Second A-Sun Player of the Week award
• Tied Ramey Kerns for team lead in goals (6) and points (13)
• Second game-winning goal of the season
• Win clinched 5th seed and fourth postseason appearance in the last five years for ETSU

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
KC Correllus, FGCU (D - Jr. - Merritt Island, Fla. - Communications)
• First A-Sun Defensive Player of the Week award
• Led a backline that posted its program-record 11th shutout on the season
• Limited Stetson to just four shots, leading FGCU to the A-Sun title
• Controlled the defense that shut down scoring opportunities

OTHER NOMINEES:
• Lindsay Haw (F, FGCU) – Scored and assisted on GW goal as FGCU won regular-season crown
• Pirjo Leppikangas (MF, Campbell) – Scored GW goal, added an assist in 3-1 win against Longwood
• Megan Masch (GK, ETSU) – Recorded four saves in posting 1-0 shutout against USC Upstate
