MACON, Ga. – Mercer’s Nadja Kolliesuah ensured the Bears a 3-0 start to the 2011 season with her game-winning goal against Georgia State, while FGCU’s Stephanie Powers earned two road victories in the net for the Eagles as the duo picked up the Atlantic Sun Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week honors.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Nadja Kolliesuah, Mercer (So. – Forward – Columbus, Ohio – Biology)

• First Career Player of the Week award; 2010 All-Tournament Team Member
• Scored the game-winning goal against Georgia State on Sunday in the 50th minute.
• Added an assist in 2-0 win at Georgia Southern o Thursday
• The Bears are off to the first 3-0 start in program history

OTHER NOMINEES:

• Kayli Moore (So., USC Upstate) – Notched first career goal in 1-1 Spartans tie vs. Francis Marion
• Ashley Ciesielczyk (Jr., FGCU) – Recorded two assists in 2-1 comeback win against Davidson
• Morgan McBride (Sr., Belmont) – Netted a penalty kick to give Bruins 1-0 victory against EIU
• Megan McGuire (Sr., Lipscomb) – Scored the game winner against Nichols State
• Jenna Caudle (Fr., ETSU) – Tallied two goals on the week including game-winner vs. Radford

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Stephanie Powers, FGCU (So. – Goalkeeper – Seffner, Fla. – Communications)

• Fourth A-Sun Defensive Player of the Week award
• Made a career-high 12 saves in 2-0 win against Charlotte on Friday
• Added another win at Davidson with four saves on Sunday
• Her 20 career shutouts ranks in a tie for eighth most in A-Sun history

OTHER NOMINEES:

• Erin Zerio (Jr., Lipscomb) – Totaled four saves on the week; earned first win of the season
• Nicole Berner (So., Belmont) – Finished with three saves for third career shutout
• Cagney Valloch (Sr., Mercer) – Continued Mercer’s shutout streak to start off the season
• Sarah Plantz (So., USC Upstate) – Tallied a career-high nine saves in first career start
• Sarah Sierra (So., Jacksonville) – Posted first career shutout in 0-0 tie against Colorado State
