McGuire and Calder Pick Up First Career A-Sun Honors

MACON, Ga. – Lipscomb’s Meghan McGuire and Kennesaw State’s Nicole Calder both earned their first career Atlantic Sun Women’s Soccer Player of the Week honors, announced Monday by the league office.

Meghan McGuire, Lipscomb
(Sr. – Forward – Roseville, Minn. – Exercise Science)
  • First Career Player of the Week award; first for Lipscomb since Oct. 27, 2008
  • Scored two goals in win against Southern Miss at Bulldog Classic
  • Her game-winner in the 76th minute gave Lady Bisons second win of the season
  • Tied for second in points (8) and goals (4) in the A-Sun
  • Katrina Frost (Fr., Kennesaw State) – Added to her league-leading goal total against UAB
  • Gina Petracco (Sr., FGCU) – Netted the game-winning goal against FIU
  • Michelle Calmeyn (Fr., USC Upstate) – Recorded first hat-trick in 10 years vs. Alabama State
  • Dani Stolt (Sr., Belmont) – Led the Bruins with two shots on goal against Western Kentucky
Nicole Calder, Kennesaw State
(Fr. – Defender – Adelaide, Australia – Psychology)
  • First Career Player of the Week award
  • Tallied three points in 4-1 win against UAB
  • Scored first collegiate goal; coming off a corner kick
  • Added an assist in the game as Owls’ defense has allowed only one goal last 180 minutes
  • Erin Zerio (Jr., Lipscomb) – Recorded 13 saves in two games with four in win vs. Southern Miss
  • Cagney Valloch (Sr., Mercer) – Matched a career-high with nine saves in overtime game vs. UGA
  • Sarah Plantz (So., USC Upstate) – Made seven saves in 90 minutes of action over the weekend
